Traditional Kitchen

The traditional kitchen is a perfect example of the deep connection in between the tribes of Wayanad and the mother nature. They make ovens out of clay on the ground mixed with dung and charcoal. Firewood collected from the neighborhood is burned to heat the oven and food is cooked in earthen pots. Pot hanger, winnowing sieve, fish basket, strainer, etc. made with reeds can also be found in the kitchen.
